Bottle #2: Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Single Barrel Selection

For bottle number 2 of the Identerati Dram Society, the astute team of Steve Hutchinson, Jon Lehtinen, and Matt Topper were sent 3 samples from individual barrels of Woodford’s Double Oaked series. These bottles were then split up and sent across the country for a private Zoom tasting whereby a single barrel was selected specifically for the palettes of the Identerati.

The sample from Batch Number II was selected as the perfect cask. The barrel came in at 90.4 proof. A Citrus and Peach profile with Strong Aromatics was the core of this batch, making it completely approachable. Soft and smooth with hints of sweet peach and apricot fruit brightened with a touch of caramelized orange peel layered over freshly sawed oak.
